Cake Toppers Galore

Hello Lovelies!

Since yesterday I posted some cake toppers, I thought I would I would continue on with the theme, but this time with unique, cool, and ones that have personality!!!
I have always thought a cake topper could be a place where you can show you and your fiance's personality! so here we go....

First up....

This cake topper isa silhouette form made out of metal. Very cool for the minimalist and modern. This can be found on the Beau comp website.

This topper is completely made out of paper!! Not only can it be used as a cake topper but it can also sit by a guestbook. There are tons of variations. It looks like the shop just opened on etsy- so lets give it some love!

Here is the section of the "love birds". Love birds is almost a wedding staple, but
c'mon lets put a unique spin on old tradition!

I know, I know...their faces don't exactly exude happiness but I think that what makes them out of the norm. They are more "hipster". Gotta love the clothes!
BTW...they have elephants, rabbits, frogs....

The snippets - etsy

Here are some pretty classy blue birds! They are beautifully handmade with papermache. if you look at the shop they have all sorts of style birds..white, brown, silhouettes, etc... There is also a couple of beautiful bride and grooms.

middleburg-etsy

I love the colors and the sweetness of these lovebirds. They are made out of Premo polymerclay and the designer states that you can choose your own colors.

I just want to eat up these birds - they are just too damn cute!!! When you look at the shop you will see that each pair has different designs painted on them and the designer also stated that you can put in custom requests. The shop also has gorgeous "Human" figures too and another thing that I adore is that they also have different shades of birds paired together!

I just have to say - you need to go look at the shop and view the different toppers that they have created! You give them the details of your Dress, Veil, Suit, Tie, Boutonniere, Hair, Skin and Eye Color and in turn they create you and your hubby into a cake topper. They are ridiculously talented!! Not to mention incredibly modern.

This is another shop that will create a look-alike couple for your wedding topper. However, this shop is a little more country and if you are looking for that at-home, rustic, simple type vibe - then this is the shop for you!!!
You send in a couple of photos and then they will send you a couple of sketches until everyone is satisfied!

urastarhouse - etsy

If you have a fantastic sense of humor and you and your friends like to live it up - then I think this would be a pretty hysterical cake topper.!!!

Not only will they try to copy the brides dress and hair color and also the grooms tie and suit BUT they will also customize the wine bottles!!

That's serious business!

Maybe you met in a library or you share a love of books or maybe even you're career students. ...either way...I think this topper is pretty damn cool!

They also have them for birdwatchers, food-lovers, and one for a Celtic wedding.

here is the great thing you can put in a request for two brides or two grooms - its about time people are getting it together!!!

This shop has every type of novelty cake topper!
Here we have the red tractor couple, but the shop also has the golf lover, the hunter, the video game player, and the Vegas couple!!
If your looking for a cake topper to represent your fiance's love of a sports team...look no further!

splendorlocity- etsy

This shop will make any "funky" ( that's what she calls it) cake topper you would like. Take a look at her shop and you will know what I mean.

I just love this one!!!!

When pigs fly

I think that says it all!!!

beeminedesigns - etsy

Like I mentioned in my previous post here
Peacocks are all the rage!

krishnasadhu - etsy

Just plain awwww.......
As we all know from that movie
"March of the Penguins" - Penguins mate for life.

And just look at those eyes??!! They look like the puppy dog eyes at the Human society! Oh gosh....why did I even think about that - it makes me sob every time.

fliepsiebieps- etsy

I know there are those gentleman out there that are all about their robots!! Females too!

This cake topper kicks ass is in the robot division - if you ask me. It is very artistic and uses so many types of different materials. Certainly not boring!

After the wedding - I really think it can be used as an art piece in the home.

I think a gnome on a cake at a garden wedding that has spunk is just the thing. Why be boring?

Have you always had a love for sock monkey's? What better way to show off what you love then sit those sock monkey's right on top of your cake for everyone to see!
For us in our 30's - didn't we all have a sock monkey?
You have to admit - its a great conversation starter at the wedding!

ohmygluestick - etsy

This shop is awesome!!!
The cake topper I picked represented the Mexican holiday "Day of the Dead" which I should note is listed under the label "couples that are together forever". Pretty creative.
They also have thee most gorgeous painted love birds - if you love color check these out!

goodydevi -etsy

For my Gothic fans or for those who dig zombies -
here is a cake topper for YOU!!
These are OOAK and I have to tell you - she really does sell out of these fast.

This can be found at Loopyboopy -ets

Some of these cake toppers may not be "you" at all but my goal was to find a little something for everyone. Have a a fantastic day!

Wedding Mapper...love it

Hello Lovelies...

Have any of you used or heard of the website......

WEDDING MAPPER

I'm sure most of you have but if you haven't its a great tool for many different reasons.

It's originally to help make maps for your guests for your wedding, BUT I used it for something completely different.

I'm the kind of person who will research something to death!

First up with my wedding planning was finding a venue. Of course it was no problem finding the country clubs, hotels, resorts, etc....but I wanted something a little more unique.

In my quest I came across the
Wedding Mapper website and if you type in the city you are looking to have your wedding it will come up with a list of other couples that have utilized the site to make their wedding maps.

What's very cool is that you can click on these couples and it will list where they had there ceremony, reception, what hotels they had people stay at, etc....

In doing this I found so many venues that I would have never found out about because they weren't the norm.

Many of the venues didn't have websites or did have a website but didn't let you know that they were open to hosting weddings.
However, these couples would know someone who knew someone that knew that this place would hold a wedding. Following me??

It has tons of info from photographers to cake makers with reviews from real-life couples not marketing drones!!

Go check it out and type in your city....and take a peep into other couples weddings.

And just so this post isn't all text...because don't we all love pics of some sort??

I have to tell you I get irritated when you always hear jokes about the guy trying to get out of the wedding or he is the one with cold feet or maybe its the girl that forced him into getting married in the first place. Ahhh.... drives me crazy, because let me tell you it can SO be the other way around!! Right, Ladies??

I mean c'mon...IT IS the guy doing the romantic gesture of proposing and spending money on a ring but whatever...

I feel like when looking at cake toppers I always come across these....

No offense to those who actually put those on their wedding cakes...but....puke!

So sweet justice when I came across these.....

Not that you would find these on my cake either! However, nice to see it the other way around.

Peacock weddings are all the rage...so they say

WOW-

Last time I was here I was making a promise to the blogging world to do at least 3 posts a week as my new years resolution...hmmmm...that was on Jan 4th, I believe.

I do have an excuse but who cares about excuses lets get on with it, shall we??

I have a dilemma...it's not really a dilemma but my brain is fried and I am at a loss of words.

Months and months ago my Mike and I were talking and I was telling him that I would love our wedding to be shades of blue. Of course, I went on to tell him that the reason I would love this color is because he looks gorgeous in blue! As you can imagine that hit the ego right on target and shades of clue became the wedding color. So we were brainstorming on how we could make it unique and thought "Hey! How cool would it be to incorporate peacocks!" ( I'm sure saw I saw peacocks on the web, but at the time I totally thought it was an original idea.)

Now come to find out it a Peacock themed wedding is listed as one of the top 5 trends for 2010 and the color Turquoise has been listed as the color of the YEAR!!! Sheesh! Here I was thinking I was being all creative.

I like being a little unique so it kind of deflated my balloon when I saw it as being a trend. However, I do have to say that I come from a smaller town and of course Michigan so I don't think people are really going to know it is a huge trend....

But just look at these adorable ideas...

How cute would these be as bridesmaids gifts??? (clutchthat -etsy)

OR THIS

This is a silk handkerchief!! The designer stated that you can put any poem, saying or anything that means something to you printed on it!!!

Great gifts for grandfathers, groom, fathers, grandmothers, etc..... and definitely heirloom potential!! (artful beginnings - etsy)

I am totally digging these hand painted wine glasses! Now these are what I want to pick up in front of everyone to toast to the beginning of a beautiful life!! (maywibis- etsy)

How's this for an original guest book?? The designer gives directions on how to make the signatures on the wood last forever.
(inspiredbymarie - etsy)

I love, love, love big cocktail rings! So why not a PEAcocktail ring?? ( oh I crack myself up!) I wish I had a better picture of this ring because it truly is breathtaking on:) The is ring is by the House of Harlow ( Nicole Richie's company). Usually I'm not drawn to celebrity created jewelry - but I love this. ahhhh....

So I'll end this for now - but I have a whole post about just paper ideas involving peacocks.

Stay tuned....promise I will be better.

One question....what do you think of trends?? Do it or don't do it?

Bring on 2010!!!!

Ok...seriously not cool. Its been a week since I posted, BUT in my defense it is the holidays and NOTHING is ever normal about the holidays...am I right??

Just think last time I posted it was in 2009 and now I'm posting in 2010....
that's just crazy, crazy I tell you!!

So its only fitting to tell all of the World Wide Web my 2010 New Years Resolutions!!

Here we go:

Post at LEAST 3 times a week On Delicious Details

To turn this poor out of shape, tired- ass body into one KICK-ASS METABOLIZING MACHINE!
- obviously doing this the good ol'fashion way of eating healthy and working out.

Plan this wedding with out any blow out fights with Fiancee' or mom... it is sooo not worth that!

Make my private practice a success
which in my head...is being able to cover bills and sock a little money away for wedding

Keeping the house picked up on a daily basis.
(We are so busy that it gets away from us and then it turns me into one grouchy fiancee')

Remember everyone's birthday this year!!

Answering my phone when it rings and returning all calls with in a 24 hour period.
( I am reallllly bad about my phone!!)

So that is my list!! Any tips or advice is VERY welcomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know its a short post, but I feel I needed to publicly declare my resolutions to make them REAL and to make me ACCOUNTABLE.

Cheers to 2010!
